It seems ages since our sale in April which once again was very successful. We were able to sponsor three awards this year. Two are second chance education awards and one is for a refugee woman. Thank you all so much for your donations, your time as volunteers on sale day and to all of you who came to the 2019 sale and went away with some wonderful bargains to add to your wardrobe.
The awards from the proceeds of the Preloved Fashion Sale were presented at the Wellington awards ceremony on Thursday 1 August. The New Horizons for Women Trust has held ceremonies to present other awards in Auckland on Saturday 10 August and in Rotorua on 11 August. South Island ceremonies will be held in September. For details, contact the New Horizons for Women Trust directly at email@example.com
Changes to the Sale Team
Other news from the fashion sale team includes a change of leadership. Sharon has stepped down after a number (maybe 10?) of years. Sharon has been an inspiring leader and during her time the sales have gone from strength to strength each year. Justine has taken on the coordinating role for the group. Huge thanks to Sharon and Justine for their capable leadership.
Anne, Therese and Judy have all left Wellington and moved north to Waikato and Bay of Plenty. We will still be involved with the Wellington sale but obviously not to the same extent as we have in the past. Rowena and Marg have agreed to be the Kapiti coordinators for collection of donations for next year’s sale.
